![]() ![]() So yeah, you get the krogan rebellions and the genophage. Social change is slow and hard, and krogan tend to be warlike to begin with, so they naturally turned to war and violent expansion in order to support their population growth. 2) The alien will give a short speech followed by a question. ![]() It is recommended to have a free cargo slot (or a slot already containing Omega) before beginning an encounter, otherwise this will be wasted. ![]() Instead, they suddenly got massive improvements in life span and child mortality. 1) The alien donates 1 unit of Omega to the player and then ends the encounter. However, the uplift meant that there wasn't time for krogan society to adapt naturally. And once krogan society learned to stabilize their birthrate on their own, they'd be able to handle getting access to space travel without declaring war on everyone. In addition, the process would have been slow enough that social change could have actually kept up with improvements in tech. That would have forced the krogan society to evolve ways to limit population growth, because their only other option wiuld be to starve. Advancing tech would have significantly increased lifespans and reduced child mortality long before they possessed the tech to leave tuchanka. If it wasn't for the council uplifting them, that wouldn't have been an issue. Their birthrate was too high and their child mortality rate was too low, so the had to expand aggressively or starve. AFAIK, the underlying issue with the krogan was overpopulation. Yup, this was 100% caused by the council. but thats only if Either Wrex or Eve are alive.īecause if Wreav is the one in charge the Galaxy is fucked. Now it's still a horrible thing and I would definitely agree it needs to end. As he said, it readjusts their birthrate for a less hostile environment, keeping their population undercontrol. The funny thing is that as Mordin mentions, the Genophage actually wouldn't kill the Krogan if not for their overtly violent nature. It was only after the Genophage was deployed that the council began to turn things around and actually push the Krogan back. Hell, even with the Turians the council was LOSING, that's how bad it got. They were launching asteroids at planets to take out enemies, destroying ecosystems and slaughering billions. Conquering planets and slaughtering everyone in their way in a blood rage. 1.4k years is long enough to at least give the Krogan another chance.īut looking into the Rebellions themselves, you know, the thing that led to it being deployed, I realized it was 100% the right call at the time. And I totally agree that it needs to end. So, we all know the genophage, that horrible sterility plague that are slowly killing the Krogan. I feel like at this point I'm gonna be the controversial take guy. ![]()
